Simple step by step process to apply for funding
You can apply for up to five nights funding by following the four steps below. It is a good idea to start by checking out the YHA School Trips packages, which include organised activities and accommodation that are especially set-up for large groups of children.
Step 1. Research activities and locations
The first thing you need to do is decide what activities you want to do and where you want to stay. Take a look at the activities and locations on this site.
If you do not find a package that meets your needs, you can organise activities at most of our YHA hostels. Visit www.yha.org.uk
Step 2. Contact the hostel manager
Once you have a good idea of the activities and location you want, you need to contact the hostel manager directly to discuss your requirements and make a provisional booking. You can find their contact details on the hostel pages.
If you are still unsure and would like further advice on locations and/or activities, please contact our group advisor on 01629 592700 who will be happy to discuss your specific needs.
Step 3. Make your funding application
You must apply for funding at least 8 weeks before you want your trip to commence, by completing our online funding application form. We aim to process all applications promptly, but please allow for up to 3 - 4 weeks.
Important: Please note that awards cannot be made if the booking has already been paid for in full so please make your application before confirmation and payment. The hostel will deduct the amount of the grant from your final invoice please make sure this is done before final payment as monies cannot be refunded.
Step 4. Confirm your booking
After you receive our response to your application please contact your hostel manager to confirm and pay for your booking. Enjoy your trip!
