How can Break4Kids help you?

Funding up to 50% of the costs of accommodation and food

Breaks4Kids can help you to make your trip inclusive for your entire group by contributing up to 50% of the costs of accommodation and food at a YHA hostel, for under-privileged children.

Who is eligible for funding?

Breaks4Kids funding is available to under-privileged young people travelling as part of an organised group. The group could be a school class, a youth club, a church group, or a group organised by a body such as the Youth Offending Group or Connexions.

We can award up to 50% of the costs of accommodation and food, for any person under the age of 18, who is entitled to free school dinners or is from a low income household.

"We are a small rural school serving an area with a considerable degree of deprivation.  On one occasion, one child would have been unable to go on the 5-day school residential, even with a subsidy from the school.  By YHA paying the hostel costs we have been able to include that child.  She would have been the only child in the class unable to take part and this would have caused her considerable distress; I wish you could have seen the look on her face when she found out she was going!"

Choose a YHA School Trip package or organise your own trip

With Break4Kids you can organise your own unique trip or choose from a selection of YHA School Trip packages. YHA School Trip packages include organised activities, linked to the national curriculum, which offer social and educational benefits. The packages are run at a selection of our hostels, which are especially set up for large groups of young people. If you prefer to design your own trip, we recommend that you contact your chosen hostel directly to discuss your requirements.
